Nexus between Emotional Intended Meaning and Literal Meaning

The paper is aimed at examining the significance of sincerity in expressing thought or idea without recourse to implications or effects. Halliday (1963) opined that "Emotion expresses the inner thought of a speaker devoid of pretence or cognitive bias". The emotional influence of a speaker overrides the literal meaning of the group of words formed to pass on information to the hearer. This struggle between the two linguistic entities (psycho-emotional linguistic and linguistic elements) is to be underpined by factors that either cause or influence them.
